I opened my eyes for the first time Saw through your eyes how you've seen me The beauty of it should be marked a crime Light and darkness, my soul open to see Strength I never knew could exist To stand up with my head held high I'm amazed how this I could have missed With the sounds of your tears I wanted to die With strength unknown I walked away Feeling part of me stay there next to you The morning after, a brand new day I'm so confused, unsure of what to do Wanting to reach out and find my rock Stumbling in darkness like a new child Where is that strength now, drained of all stock Nothing bringing me light, I haven't smiled
